Why isn't Clarke being considered for CIA Director
Huffington Post's Cenk Uygur brings up a great point:
The conventional wisdom is that everyone got the intelligence on Iraq wrong before the war. But that's not true at all. Scott Ritter didn't have it wrong. Hans Blix didn't have it wrong. And Richard Clarke didn't have it wrong. In fact, Richard Clarke had everything from Al Qaeda to Iraq exactly right.
So, why is John Brennan, who worked "the dark side" with Dick Cheney over at the CIA in contention for running the CIA but Richard Clarke isn't?
Barack Obama was said to have wanted a cast of all-stars in his cabinet. Clarke is Barack's best opportunity to bring in a person who was right about the number one foreign affairs issue from the very beginning. While distinguished veterans like Colin Powell sat there with their head between their legs as Bush lied his way to war, Richard Clarke actually lost his job because he had the courage to stand up for truth.
